-
Sumpter Valley Dredge
- A tribute to Oregon’s mining history, this spectacular tourist attraction, located 30 miles west of Baker City, offers visitors the opportunity to witness the mechanics of a 5-story, 125-foot-long floating dredge used to extract gold during the heyday of Oregon’s mining past.
-
Peter French Round Barn
- The Peter French Round Barn is one of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department’s newest historic properties and one of the most remote and fragile of Oregon’s cultural resources. Built around 1880 by rancher Peter French, this unusual barn was used for breaking and exercising horses during the harsh southeastern Oregon winters. It is open to over 15,000 visitors annually and, because of recent restoration work, it will continue to be accessible for public use.
-
Emigrant Springs State Heritage Area
- Oregon State Parks Trust raised funds to assist in the rehabilitation of the historic community building at Emigrant Springs State Heritage Area, located 26 miles south of Pendleton.
-
Farewell Bend State Park
- Farewell Bend State Park offers the opportunity to camp along the Snake River just like pioneers on the Oregon Trail did for more than 150 years. In fact, there is a special Oregon Trail exhibit which commemorates the site where pioneers rested and viewed the Columbia River for the last time before heading westward.
